For example, on New Year's day we took the Ascensor Artillería:
Which has a craft market at the top and the best view of the port:
That's about all we accomplished that day after staying out late the night before.
The next day we visited the Cemeteries on Cerro Panteón. The first one we visited was Cementerio Nº 2:
Followed by the Dissident's cemetery, which I found the most interesting because it contained mostly graves of British, German, and Italian immigrants:
German gravestones were a common site.
I didn't recognize this language.
An Italian immigrant?
What is that symbol over his name? Could it be Nazi? Supposedly a lot of Nazi people emigrated to Chile to avoid prosecution after the war.
That night we took the bus to Las Cruces to pick up my luggage and to show the girls ECIM. Then we took the bus to Santiago, where we stayed one more day. As we headed out, I said goodbye to the city because I heart Valpo.
